More Birthdaying

So, yesterday, February 1, was the official day of my birthday and it was a really good day; probably one of the best birthdays I have had in years. For breakfast, I stopped off at Panera to get a ham and Swiss egg soufflé and a cookie. The cookie was supposed to be a midday snack, but I ended up eating it after the soufflé.

Michelle, who sits next to me at work, made a delicious red velvet cake and we cut in to that around 10:00 a.m. and I also received lots of cards and gifts – a couple of lovely picture frames from Bonnie, a candle and wick trimmer from Kelli and a plant and reed diffuser from Brenda. I brought my lunch and ate in the cafeteria with the girls and we decided to go out for sushi today. I’m really looking forward to it.

After work, I went to the gym and the people in spin class sang “Happy Birthday”. It wasn’t the greatest rendition I’ve ever heard, but it’s the thought that counts. When I left the gym, I went over to Erika’s house. She had prepared dinner for us girls that were once known as the American Idol group; since we aren’t watching this season we need a new name I guess.

Here we are - Erika and Natasha - birthday party circa 1989?
Erika has been forced to attend my birthday parties for years and now she hosts them!

We had a delicious dinner of Chicken Dorrito casserole, salad and corn – it was so good – and we had birthday cake for dessert. Erika decorated the cake with an adorable pink heart. Her cake looked fabulous! I am terrible at decorating cakes so I was quite impressed with her handy work!

Beautiful and yummy cake!

We all stayed at Erika’s house for a couple of hours before departing our separate ways. It was such a good birthday filled with lots of laughter and good times spent with friends. Thanks to everyone who made my 34th birthday such fun! On to the next celebration…

We let children play with fire at my birthday parties!
Doesn't Erika look pretty?!

Blowing out the candles while Erika squeals with delight!
Yes, those are my work out clothes.
