Alice In Wonderland

This past Sunday I went with Jackie and the kids to see “Alice in Wonderland” at the VBC Playhouse. It was a really good show. Fantasy Playhouse is geared towards children. So, all the shows they do are kid-friendly and there are always a lot of children in the audience, which I think is great. It’s a good way to get your children accustomed to going to the theater.

I think everyone knows the story of “Alice in Wonderland.” The book was written by Lewis Carroll in 1865 and tells the story of Alice, a young girl who falls down the rabbit hole into a fantasy world that is quite peculiar. All of the characters you are familiar with were in the play, including the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar, Humpty Dumpty, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, The Mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts, well, you get the picture. The play was very well done and the kids really enjoyed it. They were able to get autographs of the characters after the show and afterwards they talked and laughed about different scenes from the play.

There are more performances this weekend. So, if you live in Huntsville and have some time, take the opportunity to go and see this play. The show times are Friday, October 16 at 7:00 and Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18 at 1:30 and 5:00. Another great thing about Fantasy Playhouse is that the ticket prices are quite reasonable – just $10 a person. Check out their web site at http://letthemagicbegin.org/

Here are a few photos:

It's a little blurry because the Mad Hatter was running arund like a crazy person.

Here's Troy getting Alice's autograph after the show.
